Mayfields Umilly
听The judging panel had an unenviable task when selecting their beef inter-breed winner from what was a very competitive field of breed champions at Hope Show.
After some deliberation, the Clark family's first-calved heifer, Mayfields Umilly, from their Mayfields herd, Sheffield, topped the score board.
This was its third inter-breed championship of the summer, having won previously at Ashover and Mottram in the same month. The heifer was shown with a November-born calf, Mayfields Aztec, by Thorninghurst Shrek, at foot.
Another first-calved heifer, Mere Titch, a home-bred British Blue, from Adele Sweetmore, Buxton, which was shown with its February-born calf, Mere Winnie, at foot, was reserve champion. The outfit was first in the cow and calf class at the Great Yorkshire Show and supreme champion at Ipstones and Leek shows this season.

Sheep
In the sheep sectionI, a two-shear Suffolk ram, Jalex X Factor, was supreme champion. Bought privately from Jalex Livestock in County Antrim, the ram is shared between the Buckley's Sitlow Flock near Buxton and John Elliot of Roxburgh Mains, Kelso.
The reserve champion was a Kerry Hill shearling ram, Woodhouse 51AV视频Fury, from Mazie Carter's Bearda flock, Macclesfield. The ram went on to take the Hope Show Hill inter-breed championship as well, rounding off his very prolific show season, which has included the inter-breed title at Ipstones and being one of the winning inter-breed group of three at Garstang.

Also in the sheep rings, a shearling ewe from E. and P. Howard, Blackburn, was Derbyshire Gritstone Champion of Champions, and an aged ewe from George Lee, Rochdale, was Whitefaced Woodland Champion of Champions.
