Krone has completed its sixth-generation Big Pack large square baler range with the introduction of the new Big Pack Plus and redesigned Big Pack Pro, offering farmers and contractors two clearly defined specifications to suit different workloads and budgets.
The Generation 6 line-up now spans the BP 1270, BP 1290 and HDP 1290 models in both Plus and Pro variants. While the machines share key components including pickup technology, knotter systems and operator interfaces, Krone says each range has been tailored to meet different operational demands.
The Big Pack Plus is aimed at function-focused users seeking reliable baling performance and straightforward operation. Generation 6 updates include a new Liebherr main gearbox, the EasyFlow pickup, improved hydraulic and electrical routing, and the PowerClean Plus knotter cleaning system designed to reduce contamination. Users can also specify either XCut or VariCut chopping systems, in addition to other options including moisture measurement, bale weighing and digital connectivity.

For higher-output operations, the redesigned Big PacK Pro includes a new electronics platform with an upgraded job computer, enhanced in-cab control and expanded automation. Operators can adjust functions including the Variable Filling System (VFS), cutting unit and residual bale ejector directly from the terminal, while optional PreChop technology provides an improved finished straw for bedding applications.
The Pro models also receive reinforced driveline and bale channel components to maintain consistent bale density in variable crops, alongside features including hydraulically folding twine boxes, electronic VFS adjustment, integrated bale tagging and PowerClean Pro.

Krone says the standardisation of components, software and service parts across the Generation 6 range should simplify maintenance, operator training and parts availability, while allowing customers to choose a baler that closely matches their workload
