Jalex Livestock Jaw Droppers sale tops at £20,000 for a Limousin heifer

Limousin sisters claimed top prices at the on-farm sale held in Randlestown, Northern Ireland

The Jaw Droppers heifer sale held on-farm and online on behalf of Jalex Livestock, Randlestown, Northern Ireland, topped at £20,000 for Jalex Voila, a May 2024-born Limousin heifer by Huntershall Nutcracker out of Brockhurst Oriana which sold to Drumroy Enterprises, Newry.

Next, at £15,000, was Jalex Virile, a sister to the sale topper, which went to Messrs Fowlie, Alford, Aberdeenshire. Another sister, Jalex Vabulous, went to Messrs Killen, Downpatrick, at £14,000, and Jalex Vab made £11,000 to Messrs Powell, Armagh.

Top Trump, a 2021-born in-calf British Blue cross cow by An de Beauffaux sold for £11,500 to Messrs Lynn, Armoy.

Averages: Royal Flush, £14,000; 10 bulls, £5,140; 213 in-calf animals, £4,220.20; 9 units, £4,577; 10 bulling heifers, £6,725.
