Farmers share their #WinOfTheDay across social media to spread positivity ahead of #farm24

Farming can be isolating and sometimes difficult to navigate, but in a bid to lift industry spirits, farmers are taking to social media to share their small win of the day.

In the challenge, which is part of 24 Hours in Farming, a campaign to raise awareness of the sector, those who work in the industry have spoken about the little positives, from organising the medicine cabinet to a successful foot trim.

This year 24 ambassadors have been announced for #farm which takes place on August 8, and each have shared their own posts.

Maria Warne who farms in Cornwall said: "My win of the day is getting another flock ready to battle this year's ongoing wave of flystrike."

Frank Carr, the fourth generation to farm at Lee Gate farm in Yorkshire said his small win was 'beating the rain' and getting the sheep in various sheds before the weather turned.

Charlie Winship took to Instagram to showcase how impressed he was with his new tup.

Others in the industry have been taking part too.

Charlotte Ashley, dairy farmer and YouTuber, took a video of the moment a military chinook took off from the farm, and former NHS nurse Chloe Lucas had multiple wins - passing her artificial insemination course, securing land for her cattle and gaining two extra cows.

The challenge started on July 15 and ends on August 7, just ahead of the #farm24 event. Head to social media to take part and tag Farmers Guardian and Morrisons.
