Ms Piper, who survived an acid attack in 2008, said her main takeaways from the show included Mr Coopers's love of tractors and dislike of sheep.

In 2009, she founded the Katie Piper Foundation to raise awareness of the challenges burns victims face.

Coronation Street raised awareness of the issue in a storyline during 2023.Ìý
