The first ram at this money was a son of Glenochar Knockout from R.H Paton, Castle Crawford, Biggar. The buyer was Stirkfield Farms, Biggar.
Next from W.J.C. and S.J. Weir, Hownam, was a two-shear ram by Stirkfield Craig, which was knocked down to James Common and Son, Lockerbie.
Making 拢12,000 was a two-shear ram from T. Elliot, Hindhope, Jedburgh. The son of Hindhope Beretta went home with Messrs Macmillan, Glasgow.
Also selling for 拢12,000 was a shearling ram by Castle Hercules consigned by Niel Manning, Tweedsmuir, which sold to Messrs Douglas, Yarrow.
A ram by Becks Quicksilver from Messrs Common made 拢10,000 in a two-way split to Messrs Irving and Son, Selkirk, and Messrs Douglas. Another ram from the same home, this time by Becks Revolution also made 拢10,000 to Messrs Paton, Thornhill, and Messrs Thomas, Biggar.
Messrs Common then paid 拢10,000 for a two-shear ram by Skelfhill Special from I.H.G. Warden, Hawick.
