UK lurching into a food security 'nightmare', report finds

Is it time for the Government to realise that war in the Middle East, Inheritance Tax changes, and cheap food imports are undermining British farmers and the UK's food security?

Rory Hutchings, partner and head of HCR's agriculture and estates team, said: "At a time of immense global turmoil and with supply chains reeling from the impact of armed conflict and trade wars, this country's ability to feed itself has, ironically, been badly undermined. Food security is not just a matter of producing enough food, but of ensuring the long-term sustainability and prosperity of the farming sector. The time to act is now, before the forecasts of reduced food production become a reality."
