Back to its usual May date after a move to July last year, Shropshire County Show, saw the ‘best in show’ for the cattle section go to the beef inter-breed winner, a Charolais heifer, from the Corbett family, Knighton, Powys.

British Blue cattle were in demand at the Border British Blue Club show and sale at Carlisle selling to 18,000gns for second prize winning, Brennand Panther, from Jeff and Margaret Walker, Dunsop Bridge.

A new world record for a sheep dog of 29,600 was set at the online sale hosted by Farmers Marts (R.G. Jones), Dolgellau.

A new world record for a Limousin bull of 180,000gns was set at the breed society sale at Carlisle for Graiggoch Rambo. The previous record was 140,000gns for Trueman Jagger in 2015.
